BLACK FARMERS STILL THE VICTIM
Wed, 21 Feb 2001 08:47:10 EST
Good morning all,
I write this to seek support for the WITHCARD BROTHERS in Franklin County,
Virginia. The two bothers are in Track B of the Consent Decree and have had
to file a Chapter 13 because of the government's tactics of delay and
destroy. Sherman says a ridiculous settlement has been reached way short of
what their case is worth. However, there is this 120 day waiting period for
the USDA to appeal the decision. Thus, they will not give any written
communication that the cased has been settled.
On yesterday, Sherman's brother was taken to court by a private bank. We are
still trying to figure how this happens when one is in Bankruptcy. At any
rate, they wanted to repossess the equipment. Witchard would not tell where
the equipment is located because he is in a bankruptcy proceedings. THE
JUDGE THREW HIM IN JAIL FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT WITHOUT BAIL.
Sherman is on his way to Roanoke, VA this morning to see what can be done.
Here is another expense for the brothers as they now must hire an attorney to
get the brother out of jail.
I guess all we can do right now is to give our prayers and I will send a
contact number and address later. WE could maybe send a few dollars to help
I am receiving about one phone call or e-mail per week that people are again
being harassed by the FBI. Anyone have any news on this?
Gary R. Grant, Pres.
