Introducing Muhammad Farms 2008 Official Calendar

Our 2008 calendar will include monthly Black history information, Nation of Islam important dates, important Black holidays and color photographs of activities at Muhammad Farms.  Added this year are pictures of Believers' gardens across the country, plus a "moon phase" planting guide for each month of the year.

Thank you for the Muhammad Farms calendar!
This is one empowering calendar--very inspirational and informative. The color photographs of our Nation's farm and gardens are wonderful and encouraging. The photos certainly demonstrate the possibility of growing our own food, and could also make gardening accessible even to city dwellers. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of important NOI dates and Muslim holy days, as well as the "traditional" holidays. I really like that it highlights our Black history (birthdates for Bob Marley, Marcus Garvey, Ida B. Wells, and the Hon. Min. Farrakhan, for example).

Just as we humans are affected by the moon's rhythms, so too

are seeds and plants, so the zone map planting dates and the

information on planting using the

phases of the moon is intriguing and useful.

This is not some superficial, mundane calendar, that's for sure. It really is a valuable resource for Believers, gardeners and everyone in-between. A great addition (in future editions) would be excerpts of Dr. Ridgely's stimulating, thoughtful and insightful articles.
