Dear Producer,
I enjoyed watching your show on Black land loss and heir property issues on "BET Tonight" with Ed Gordon, January 22, 2002. I am a Black farmer and/or land
owner who has been personally affected by tactics of the USDA and its agents, and/or others who have practiced unscrupulous actions to steal land from Black people. I have been directly involved with the Pigford vs Glickman class action lawsuit which I thought was going to help my situation. I have had many problems with this lawsuit myself and have talked to many other Black farmers who are as upset as I am.Your show on January 22, 2002 certainly set the stage for you to have other
guests on your show to expose the problems that Black farmers/land owners are having in getting justice and saving our land. The Black Farmers and Agriculturists Association (BFAA) has done much to help us. The amount of time and the specific issue you addressed did not allow Mr. Tom Burrell, our representative, to go in to greater depth with the issue of the USDA and the lawsuit. Black farmers did not receive "Reparations" under this lawsuit. Instead we find ourselves cheated once again.Thank you, again for airing the program. Hopefully, you will find this topic intriguing
enough to do other shows that address real "reparations" for African Americans in this country, namely land ownership and the stealing of the land by the US government. Sincerely,________________________________
