It does not matter who we are, our age, status in life, or religious beliefs we all have at least one thing in common. That is We All Eat. The question then becomes what have we been eating lately?
Certainly we think the U.S. Government, The Food and Drug Administration, The Department of Agriculture, and The Department of Health and Human Services have our best health and welfare at heart. How surprised I was to find that these and other highly placed individuals, along with food manufacturing companies have manipulated the public into consuming Genetically Modified products and harmful hazardous additives, that have not been approved or properly tested for human consumption.
Just by reading the cover and praise page of the book, " Seeds of Deception Exposing Industry and Governments Lies About The Safety of the Genetically Engineered Foods You’re Eating ’’, by Jeffery M. Smith ( 888-717-7000) will cause us to look more carefully at the labels and make more informed choices before purchasing and eating processed or prepared foods. I was totally surprised to learn that the U.S. government authorized for human consumption Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) and food additives that have not been properly or independently tested. Instead they rely on the company that produced the product to evaluate the safety of their product. These companies in return present the least information possible to the FDA to get the quickest results to get their product to the uninformed consumers.
GMO products are produced by splicing genes from one species into the DNA of another. This technology is fraught with unknown and possibly disastrous consequences for our health and environment. Mr. Smith uses a number of genetic scientists to spell out each of the possible negative side effects of this "shot gun" approach technology.
Fields of soybeans, corn, cotton, and canola cover over 145 million acres and are the front runners of these GMO crops. On November 25, 2006 GMO Rice was just approved without oversight by USDA. (...)
GMO and harmful additives has entered The U.S. food chain from the fish we eat to the milk we drink. Bovine Growth Hormones (BGH) has been injected into the dairy cows increasing their milk production by 10 to 15 percent. Canadian scientist determined that the milk from these cows was unsafe to drink but the company, Monsanto, tried to get it approved anyway. The FDA came to their aid and declared it safe for humans in 1985.
Monsanto was allowed to sell milk and meat from its research herds and experimental dairies. This process is a good example of "conflict of interest," sloppy scientific studies and industry influence. The USDA approved Monsanto’s evaluation of their products and rejected their own Government scientist evidence to the contrary.
New viruses, cancers, unstable chromosomes, respiratory, intestinal and skin reactions, allergies, toxins, and antibiotic resistant genes are all just a small part of the results from consuming GMO products. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad wrote and published in 1967 Book One of "How To Eat To Live" and in 1972 he published Book Two. This is the only book that he wrote two volumes on. Like him both Bible and Holy Qur’an instruct us on what to eat and store in our houses. I strongly suggest that we get both books and immediately start the methods of eating found in them.
But eating the "right" foods must include not eating genetically modified varieties of the "right" foods. The only way to be sure is to STOP purchasing and eating processed foods and grow your own. Lastly , I suggest we contact Dr. Ridgley and Sister Anne at www.muhammadsfarms.com or 229-995-6619 and invite them to a Community Meeting where they present "How To Eat To Live ’’.
